Finally, a bus stop in El Cuchillete
It is a historic demand from the municipality of Tuineje that will begin operating on May 28.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Transport, is improving the operation of lines 1, 9 and 16 of the regular inter‑urban passenger service by adding a stop in the El Cuchillete industrial park, located in the municipality of Tuineje.
The stop will start service this Thursday, May 28. In both directions, lines 1 (Morro Jable – Puerto del Rosario via Gran Tarajal), 16 (Gran Tarajal – Puerto del Rosario) and 9 (Pájara – Morro Jable via Gran Tarajal) will call at the new point.
“From the Island Corporation we work so that public transport reaches every corner of the island. With this stop we answer a historic demand from the Town Hall, public‑transport users, businesses and workers in the area,” explains island president Lola García.
“This improvement represents a historic milestone in the plan to upgrade the island’s transport system. Within that strategy, we have already renewed almost half of the vehicle fleet, introduced electric buses and continue to promote new locations to bring public transport closer to more points on the island,” says Transport Councillor Luis González.
The stop has been enabled following improvement works in the area carried out by the Roads Department of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
