First Agrofuer Edition a Hit in Tuineje
The fair organized by the Chamber of Commerce and the Cabildo brought the best of rural life to the surroundings of the Church of San Miguel.
The inaugural edition of Agrofuer, a fair dedicated to promoting interior zones and boosting local products and crafts, was a complete success. Over two days it animated the beautiful setting of the Church of Tuineje.
Producers, exhibitors, artisans, and the general public enjoyed two days during which visitors and locals could discover a slice of the island’s agrarian culture and traditions.
In this cultural vein, the Mas Ruines Cultural Association (also known as Caín) presented reenactments of events related to the Battle of Tamasite, delighting attendees at the event.
Different Authorities
During the two days of the fair, various island and regional authorities visited the church square, including two counselors from the Government of the Canary Islands, the president of the Cabildo, a senator, the mayor of Tuineje, Cabildo counselors, Tuineje councilors, and representatives from other municipalities.
Agrofuer is here to stay, aiming to give economic meaning to interior areas that have much to offer the tourism sector, which often overlooks the island’s cultural and gastronomic richness.
