Four arrested and multiple drug charges in a Canary Islands police raid in Fuerteventura

The interventions were carried out in Pájara and Tuineje, within the framework of the Canary Government’s shock plan to prevent criminal activities.

The General Body of the Canary Police has detained two people in the municipality of Tuineje, as part of the operational devices deployed to reinforce public safety on the island of Fuerteventura over the past weekend.

The actions were carried out by agents of the Prevention and Police Intervention Unit (UPRI) in the municipalities of Pájara and Tuineje. During these operations, various narcotics were seized, including crack, cocaine and tussi.

During the police actions, two individuals who were wanted by the judicial authority were also detained. These interventions are part of the shock plan approved by the Presidency Ministry of the Canary Government for the island of Fuerteventura, whose objective is to prevent criminal activities, strengthen police control and guarantee public safety and community coexistence.

Overall, the operation resulted in a total of four people detained, as well as the issuance of 21 citations for possession of narcotics both in public spaces and establishments, and seven citations for disobedience to law‑enforcement officers.

The General Body of the Canary Police will continue to develop this type of preventive and control devices, in coordination with other administrations, in order to ensure compliance with the law and protect citizens.
