Four puppies killed after being thrown into a clothing bin at Parque Holandés
A fifth puppy was found agonizing and five were alive in a heart‑less act in the locality.
Emergency crews from the La Oliva Fire Department and the La Oliva Local Police responded this afternoon after an alert from the CECOE 112 Canarias reporting a clear case of extreme animal cruelty.
The emergency services received reports of a possible life‑threatening situation for animals inside a clothing and footwear container located in Parque Holandés, La Oliva.
Rescue operation
Faced with the seriousness of the scene, firefighters forced the container open. Inside they discovered nine very young puppies:
- Four were already dead, found inside a bag.
- Five were alive.
- One of the surviving puppies was in a critical, agonizing state.
Legal response
Animal Welfare officials from La Oliva warned that abandoning living beings in enclosed spaces such as containers is not only an act of extreme cruelty but also a punishable crime.
“Abandoning living beings in closed spaces like containers is not only an act of extreme cruelty, but a crime punishable by law,” the agency stated.
Local police investigations have identified the individual responsible for this terrible act and have also located the mother of the puppies.
