Fuerteventura advances a multipurpose training center for higher education

The new building, next to the Technological Park, will boost university education and retain talent on island

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is pushing forward the project for a future Multipurpose Training Center, a facility designed to host higher‑education studies that will be located near the island’s Technological Park.

The Department of Education is currently drafting the project, according to Cabildo president Lola García. She emphasized that the new building will promote the establishment of university and higher‑education programs in Fuerteventura, helping to retain local talent.

“We need a space that can accommodate both existing degree programmes and potential new higher‑education courses,” said Education Counselor Adargoma Hernández.

Cabildo officials also note that, despite this initiative, there remains a demand for other essential educational infrastructures, such as a dedicated center for the Fuerteventura School of Art and an expansion of the CIFP Majada Marcial vocational institute.

Finance Counselor Nuria Cabrera added that financing mechanisms are being explored so that construction of the Multipurpose Training Center can begin as soon as possible.
