Fuerteventura airport operating normally
Passage of Storm “Therese” Through the Canary Islands Forces Cancellation of Seven Flights This Morning from North Tenerife
The Majorero Airport is currently operating with total normality, although there are a few isolated delays and some flights are still awaiting departure from Tenerife North.
During the morning of Thursday, the arrival of the low‑pressure system “Therese” over the Canary Islands required the cancellation of seven flights that were scheduled to depart from Tenerife North Airport.
According to AENA, adverse weather conditions in northern Tenerife led to:
- Four flights destined for Gran Canaria Airport being cancelled.
- Three flights bound for La Palma being cancelled.
For comparison, the strong winds that battered the Canary Islands on Wednesday caused the cancellation of up to 36 flights and forced the diversion of seven additional flights.
