Fuerteventura Book Fair Returns
The Island Council celebrates the 36th Fuerteventura Book Fair, scheduled for October 15‑18, under the motto “Reading Opens Borders.”
The 36th edition of the Fuerteventura Book Fair, organized by the Island Library Center under the Island Council, will take place from October 15 to 18 in the Plaza of the Palace of Training and Congresses.
Under the theme “Reading Opens Borders,” this year’s fair will bring the latest publishing releases to the island’s residents, delivering a clear message: the book is a tool that breaks down barriers, invites knowledge, celebrates diversity, fosters dialogue, and promotes understanding.
“The Book Fair has become, after more than three decades, one of the most important cultural events on the island’s calendar,” said Lola García, President of the Island Council.
“It serves as a meeting point for authors, publishers, bookstores, schools, and citizens,” added Rayco León, Culture Counselor.
The fair’s organizers are already preparing a program that will once again turn the island into a literary hub. The schedule will include:
- Book presentations
- Author talks and meet‑and‑greets
- Theatre performances
- Musical shows
- Circus acts
- A wide range of activities specially designed for children
All these elements will shape a vibrant new edition of the Fuerteventura Book Fair.
