Fuerteventura business programme ends with focus on planning and growth

Consolídate 2026 ended in Puerto del Rosario on 30 October. Local business owners shared experiences and discussed how to manage long-term growth.

The Chamber of Commerce in Fuerteventura brought its Consolídate 2026 business support programme to a close on Friday 30 October. The final session took place at the Centro Insular de Juventud in Puerto del Rosario.

The event focused on a practical challenge for business owners on the island: how to find time to plan and make key decisions while managing daily demands.

Those taking part shared their experiences and presented their business projects. They also discussed their future prospects in a round-table discussion led by programme tutor Alejandro Ramos. The session explored the challenges of starting and growing a business. It drew on the experiences of business owners across Fuerteventura.

A coffee and networking break gave people from different sectors time to exchange contacts and discuss ways to work together.

Looking beyond day-to-day demands

Speaker Presen Simón then led a session on moving from constant firefighting to a more planned approach to running a business. She looked at how urgent daily tasks can leave little time to plan and make key decisions.

Her talk covered ways to set priorities, manage time better and build leadership skills. These skills can help owners see their projects more clearly. She also explored tools and ways of working that could reduce the need to react to unexpected problems. The aim was to focus more on growth, stability and keeping businesses viable in the long term.

The event ended with diplomas for those who took part, recognising their work during Consolídate 2026. The Chamber’s programme provides training, advice and tools to help business owners strengthen their projects.
