Fuerteventura Council backs Palestinian people in official statement

The corporation denounces “the genocide affecting millions of people in the region.”

The plenary of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura approved, in an ordinary session, an institutional declaration that backs the Palestinian people and defends peace in Gaza, while condemning the genocide that is affecting millions in the region.

The resolution emphasizes:

  • The need to protect the civilian population.
  • The condemnation of all acts of violence and terrorism.
  • The guarantee of unrestricted humanitarian aid.

It urges the international community to advance toward a two‑state solution—Israel and Palestine—as the only viable path to a just and lasting peace, in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.

The declaration also calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, expresses solidarity with all civilian victims of the conflict, and commits to promoting awareness actions and international cooperation from the local level.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura will forward this agreement to:

  • The Government of Spain
  • The European Parliament
  • The United Nations
  • The Embassy of the State of Palestine
  • The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP)
