Official statements
“These grants are essential to address the needs and demands of the educational community regarding students with special needs derived from disability,” said Lola García, President of the Island Council.
“In the previous edition, €90,000 were awarded to schools so they could meet the requirements of their students,” added Adargoma Hernández, Councillor for Education.
Purpose of the grants
The scholarships can be used for:
- Purchasing learning materials that enhance educational outcomes.
- Funding services necessary for proper schooling (e.g., therapeutic or support services).
- Covering expenses related to extracurricular activities, transportation, and access to educational facilities, among other costs.
These measures aim to ensure that students with special educational needs receive the resources and support required for inclusive and effective learning.
