Fuerteventura Film Commission launches new training program with never-before-offered island courses
The courses are taught by professionals with a recognized track record in nationally and internationally significant films and cinema.
Fuerteventura Film Commission has unveiled its 2026 training programme, comprising courses and workshops aimed at industry professionals and newcomers to the audiovisual sector. The curriculum will be delivered in two blocks, featuring training actions that have never before been offered on Fuerteventura and instructors with extensive experience in acclaimed series and films.
“The potential of the audiovisual industry in Fuerteventura has been more than proven in recent years,” said Lola García, President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura. “So far in 2026 the island has already hosted three film productions, both national and international, and two more feature films and a series are slated for shooting before June. It is therefore essential to continue training our professionals with specialised courses that meet industry demands and to keep generating jobs and direct benefits for our local economy,” García added.
Nereida Calero, Councilor of the Fuerteventura Film Commission, highlighted the island’s growing appeal for full‑scale productions:
“In recent years Fuerteventura has experienced a shift in the shooting model: the island is now chosen to carry out entire productions—or the majority of them— which increases the demand from productions for local professionals.”
The presentation was also attended by Adargoma Hernández, Councilor for Education and Youth.
