Fuerteventura Hosts Emocreative “Abrigadas” at the Emocuidando Sessions

The island of Fuerteventura will be the venue on May 7 for a new edition of the Abrigadas Emocreativas, an initiative included in the V Emocuidando Days that continues its tour of the archipelago after stops on other islands.

The program, promoted by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura together with Sinergias In & Out, aims to foster emotional well‑being in the educational sphere through experiences that promote empathy, care, and strong bonds between students and teachers.

“Emotional care and relationships within the educational community are essential for students’ development,” said Lola García, President of the Cabildo.

In the same vein, Adargoma Hernández, Councillor for Education, emphasized that these initiatives create meeting spaces built on empathy and mutual recognition.

“These actions allow us to generate spaces of encounter based on empathy and mutual recognition,” Hernández added.

The activity will travel across several points on the island, reaching six schools located in the municipalities of La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario, Tuineje, and Pájara. Around 1,000 primary‑school pupils (5th and 6th grades) are expected to participate, alongside 60 university students from the University of La Laguna and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, who will help facilitate the dynamics.

Complementarily, the program will also feature “Islas de Emocuidados,” offering affective tutoring sessions for families to strengthen emotional support within the home environment.

The day is supported by a range of institutions, including the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Education, the General Directorate of Youth, and the participating municipal councils.

With this initiative, Emocuidando continues to solidify its role as a proposal centered on emotional care and conscious education, spreading its message throughout the archipelago.
