Fuerteventura Hosts the Canary Islands School Football and Futsal Championship
Fuerteventura is hosting, for the first time, the provincial phase of the Canary Islands School‑Age Championships in under‑8 football and children’s futsal. The competition is organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands and will take place on the island of Fuerteventura.
The island’s selections, both male and female, will represent Fuerteventura in the 43rd edition of the championships, competing against the teams from Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. The qualified sides will advance to the final phase, which will bring together the two best teams from each provincial stage.
“It is an event that the Cabildo has been supporting for many years,” said Luis González Cabrera, Sports Councillor of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, expressing his backing for the young local talent that will represent the island.
“I encourage everyone to take part in this sporting event,” added Jacob Vázquez, Island Delegate of the Insular Football Federation.
