Fuerteventura launches video game league across all six municipalities
Registration for the first FTV Game Party Liga closes on 12 November. Players can compete in four games over six in-person rounds.
Fuerteventura’s first FTV Game Party Liga will bring in-person video game competition to all six municipalities, with registration open until 12 November. The league is due to start in November and will run over six rounds, one in each municipality.
Players can enter Mario Kart World, Clash Royale, EA Sports FC 27 or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Each game will have its own standings and champion.
How to enter
To register, participants should email [email protected] with their team name, chosen game and contact details, and attach their team crest. Each participant competes as an individual team; those without a crest can create one using the generator on the league website.
The website also has the rules and standings. The schedule and venues will be published there and on Instagram at @ftvgamerparty.
How the league works
The league will not use a knockout format: match-ups will be set from the start and played across the six rounds. A win earns three points, a draw two and a loss one. A player who fails to attend receives no points, while their opponent receives three.
The organisers say inappropriate behaviour can lead to penalties, including the loss of points or removal from the league.
The top three players in each game will qualify directly for advanced rounds of the open tournaments at December’s FTV Game Party.
The initiative is supported by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through its New Technologies department, and the Canary Islands Government, through the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), with the collaboration of INX Arena, Asociación Omotenashi and Chikaku.
