Fuerteventura operates 134 flights on Jan. 1

Canary Islands airports will operate 1,129 flights on New Year’s Day, a 4 % increase over 2025.

The Aena airport network in the Canary Islands plans to run 1,129 flights on Thursday, 1 January 2026, which represents a 4 % rise compared with the same day in 2025, according to data supplied to Europa Press by the airport operator.

The busiest airport on that day will be Gran Canaria, with 323 scheduled flights, followed by Tenerife South with 255 flights and the Lanzarote aerodrome with 178 flights.

Close behind are:

  • Tenerife North – 173 flights
  • Fuerteventura – 134 flights
  • La Palma – 46 flights

The smaller aerodromes will handle fewer services:

  • El Hierro – 12 flights
  • La Gomera – 8 flights

“The flight schedule is subject to changes that may arise from the operational decisions of the various airlines, depending on the situations that occur,” the airport manager noted.

The final flight count may vary as airlines adjust their operations in response to evolving circumstances.
