Fuerteventura’s Halloween table tennis and chess tournament draws 18 players

Players from Fuerteventura and La Palma took part in the second PingPong-Chess Dragones tournament at the Pabellón Insular. Las Dos Torres retained their title.

Eighteen players from Fuerteventura and La Palma took part in the second PingPong-Chess Dragones tournament. The Halloween event took place at Fuerteventura’s Pabellón Insular. Players competed in pairs, playing both table tennis and chess.

Onda Fuerteventura reported on the event on 4 November 2026 but did not say when it took place. The president of Dragones said the focus was on getting together and enjoying the competition, rather than the results.

Players brought a range of skills. Some had played table tennis, others chess, and some both. Others had very little experience in either game. The president also noted that more players wore costumes this year, adding colour to the event.

Champions retain their title

Las Dos Torres, Abel Lorenzo and Adán Lorenzo, finished first. They retained the title they won last year. Los Capibaras 2.0, Jinxin Chen and Jonathan González, were runners-up. Los Dragones Anémicos, Ángel García and Eduardo Couso, took third place.

The youngest-pair trophy went to Sábado de chuches, Levi Lin and Timmy Lin. Las Amanitas, Nora Carrero and Monika Barszczewska, won the award for the oldest pair.

Eduardo Couso also won the best-costume prize for his Mutenroshi outfit. He again received the most votes from fellow players.

The organisers thanked everyone who took part and invited them to enter the next tournament. The report gave no date for that event.
