The Canary culture is in mourning while proud of an impressive legacy
Today we lose a cultural reference in the Canary Islands, the Majorero master of the timple, Casimiro Camacho.
Born in Lajares, Camacho is regarded as one of the first solo interpreters of our instrument, leaving a great legacy in our musical culture.
Admired and loved by all, he was an exceptional, precocious musician who paved the way for today’s virtuosos of the quintessential Canary instrument. Rest in peace, maestro, and thank you for the legacy.
