Gazati Community Celebrates Hope of Escaping Hell
Hamas and Israel Agree a Ceasefire for Noon
Two years after Hamas’s atrocities on 7 October 2023, negotiations in Sharm el‑Sheikh are on the brink of securing a ceasefire in Gaza and ending the genocide that has claimed more than 70,000 Palestinian lives—most of them civilians, children and women.
“I am proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan,” wrote former President Donald Trump on social media last night.
Hamas, Israel and Qatar have confirmed the agreement. While the precise details have not yet been made public, the likely provisions include:
- The release by Hamas of the roughly 20 remaining Israeli hostages who are still alive.
- A reciprocal release by Israel of a large number of convicted Palestinian prisoners.
- A massive influx of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
- A partial withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from Gaza’s main cities, a move Trump described as “an agreed line.”
