Going to La Peña by Bus with El Cabildo

A special bus service has been established for the 2025 Feast of Our Lady of La Peña.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Transport and the public‑service concessionaire, has set a dedicated timetable for the celebrations on 19 and 20 September. During these special services passengers will not be able to activate or recharge transport passes, so a fully loaded and activated pass must be carried beforehand.

Friday, 19 September

  • Puerto del Rosario → Antigua – 20:30, 21:30, 22:30, 23:30

    • Ticket office: Guagua station in Puerto del Rosario (19:00 – 24:00) - Price: €3.00
    • Continuous service from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.

  • Antigua → Puerto del Rosario – 21:00, 22:00, 23:00

    • Ticket office: kiosk near the Antigua Local Police station
    • Price: €3.00
    • Continuous service from 01:00 to 08:00 the following day.

  • Antigua ↔ Vega de Río Palmas – Departures every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 17:30 (both directions)

    • Ticket office: on the same bus and at the kiosk near the Antigua Police station / at the Vega stop
    • Price: €3.00
    • Continuous service from 18:00 to 08:00 the next day.

Saturday, 20 September

  • Antigua → Puerto del Rosario – 01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00, 05:00, 06:00, 07:00, 08:00

    • Ticket office: on the same bus
    • Price: €3.00

  • Antigua → Vega de Río Palmas – 08:30, 10:30, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00

    • Ticket office: on the same bus
    • Price: €3.00

  • Vega de Río Palmas → Antigua – 09:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00, 16:00, 16:30, 18:00, 20:00

    • Ticket office: on the same bus
    • Price: €3.00

Important: No activation or recharge of transport passes will be possible during these special services. Passes must be pre‑loaded and activated to avoid delays.

Inside the special‑service buses, the transport pass may be used, but consumption of food or drinks is prohibited, and the luggage compartments are not available for passengers.

Regular Lines that Stop in Antigua on Holiday Schedules

  • Line 01 – Puerto del Rosario ↔ Morro Jable

    • Departures from Puerto del Rosario: 05:00, 05:45, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 14:45, 15:00, 15:30, 16:00, 17:00, 18:30, 19:00, 20:00, 21:00 (≈ 30 min to Antigua).
    • Departures from Morro Jable: 07:30, 08:00, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:00, 13:15, 14:00, 15:00, 15:30, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 19:00, 21:45, 22:30, 23:00, 23:45 (≈ 1 h 35 min to Antigua).

  • Line 16 – Puerto del Rosario ↔ Gran Tarajal

    • Puerto del Rosario departures: 05:15, 09:30, 11:45, 16:00, 17:30 (≈ 45 min to Antigua).
    • Gran Tarajal departures: 08:30, 10:30, 13:00, 17:30 (≈ 20 min to Antigua).

  • Line 02 – Puerto del Rosario ↔ Vega de Río Palmas

    • Puerto del Rosario departures: 11:00, 14:30, 18:30 (only the 11:00 service passes through Antigua, ≈ 45 min).
    • Vega de Río Palmas departures: 08:30, 12:30, 16:30.

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura encourages all festival attendees to use public transport instead of private cars and to take advantage of the transport pass for the special services linked to the patron saint’s celebrations.
