Gran Tarajal Carnival kicks off to the rhythm of the comparsas
A proclamation with memory and heart
“The opening shot was fired by José Ávila, an indispensable figure of our celebration as founder and director of Gran Tarajal’s first comparsa, ‘Los Tanquilleros’.”
The spirit of Carnival has returned to the streets of Gran Tarajal in an inaugural day filled with nostalgia, rhythm, and colour. Thursday night marked a milestone for the local festivities with an emotional proclamation and the long‑awaited return of the Comparsas Competition, bringing “rhythm and flavour” back to the heart of the municipality.
The return of rhythm: Comparsas Competition
After years of waiting, the main stage vibrated once again with the revival of the Comparsas Competition. Three groups proved that talent and passion are still alive, delivering a spectacular showcase of percussion and dance that had the audience on its feet.
