Gran Tarajal Rocks with Miguel Ríos and Antonio Orozco
First Night of the Arena Negra Festival
Around 17,000 people enjoyed the first night of the Arena Negra Festival on the beach of Gran Tarajal, dancing to the pop of Antonio Orozco and the veteran rock of Miguel Ríos, who headlined the event, along with the musical fusion of Aldara and the rhythms of Grupo Extra.
Aldara Opens the Celebration
The Gran Canaria artist Aldara, winner of the 2021 Canary Music Awards, kicked off the festival with a concert that blended pop, Latin, urban sounds and even cumbia. On stage she showcased her love for music with dance‑floor‑ready tracks such as her latest single Rumbo al Pari.
Miguel Ríos – A Spanish Rock Legend
“Fuerteventura, how beautiful your name sounds.”
The legend of Spanish music, Miguel Ríos, opened his set with that line and delivered a masterclass in classic rock. Songs from his newest album El Último Vals, which mixes rock and country, gave way to many of his greatest hits—tracks that have become part of the nation’s musical history.
Antonio Orozco – Celebrating 25 Years
After the crowd sang along to Ríos’s anthems, Gran Tarajal was ready for Antonio Orozco, one of Spain’s most prominent pop figures. He marked his 25‑year career with La Gira de Mi Vida, performing songs from his new album and several timeless hits that have contributed to his 1.5 million+ records sold to date.
Grupo Extra Closes the Night
The evening ended with the high‑energy performance of Grupo Extra, whose vibrant choreography and infectious harmonies kept the beach audience dancing until the early hours.
