Health Service Restores 30 Hospital Beds in Fuerteventura

These beds are essential to meet current care needs, including the replacement of obsolete furniture and compliance with current health standards.

The acquisition of the new beds is required to renew and expand the equipment of the SCS health centers, thereby improving the quality of patient care. These beds are indispensable for covering present assistance needs, replacing outdated furniture and meeting up‑to‑date sanitary standards.

Allocation of the New Beds

  • 70 beds → Health Services Management of La Palma
  • 50 beds → Health Services Management of Lanzarote
  • 30 beds → Health Services Management of Fuerteventura
  • 25 beds → Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria

Open Procurement Procedure

The contract, formalised with Industrias Hidráulicas Pardo S.L., was carried out through an open tender and ordinary processing, subject to harmonised regulation. The agreement stipulates a four‑month execution period and a base tender budget of €468,650 (including IGIC).

More Than 1,400 New Beds Added in 2024

In 2024, the SCS added a total of 1,456 beds to the public hospital network of the Canary Islands, installing them across the four university hospitals of the capital islands and their affiliated centres. This investment amounted to €3.427 million, co‑financed by the European Union under the Canary Islands FEDER Programme 2021‑2027.
