Hiker Rescued After Accident on Bayuyo Volcano

The GES helicopter carried out a rescue on Monday of a hiker who was injured on the El Bayuyo trail in the municipality of La Oliva, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112.

The man suffered a trauma to his lower limb. He was airlifted by the helicopter and later transferred to the General Hospital of Fuerteventura.

The rescue operation also involved firefighters from La Oliva, Civil Protection personnel, and local police officers.
