HiperDino invests nearly €1 million in its Express store in El Cotillo

The supermarket chain has committed to a total overhaul of the store, which for the past two weeks has showcased a modern look and improved functionality.

HiperDino continues its 2026 program of comprehensive renovations across several of its outlets. Just two weeks ago the company unveiled the refurbishment of its HiperDino Express El Cotillo store in Fuerteventura.

The store has undergone a complete transformation, dramatically expanding its floor space thanks to an investment of nearly €1 million. Today the outlet boasts 437 m² of sales area within a total footprint of 558 m², accommodating not only the usual product aisles but also dedicated sections for bakery, fresh produce, perfumery, wine cellar, ecological products, and frozen goods.

“With this initiative we have adapted our facility to the commercial demand of our customers in the municipality. The renovation has brought not only a modernization of our sections and services but also improvements in operational efficiency and, ultimately, the quality of service we provide to our customers in a high‑tourist‑traffic area throughout the year, especially from April onward,” said Felipe Díaz, coordinator of HiperDino Express (HDX) in the Canary Islands.

Díaz added that HiperDino is entering the year with a significant investment plan for HDX remodels. The chain currently operates 93 HDX stores in the Canary Islands and, by the end of April, will have 21 HDX locations in Mallorca, reinforcing the group’s focus on stores that offer fresh, locally sourced, high‑quality products as well as other items that match the profile of its visitors—“more oriented toward the tourists we receive in the Canary archipelago.”

Energy‑Efficiency Measures

The renovation project also incorporates actions aimed at greater energy efficiency, including:

• Installation of LED lighting throughout the sales floor.
• Integration of Danfoss tele‑management to control the on/off cycles of lighting, signage, air‑conditioning, and to optimize the cold‑chain system.
