Iberia Express boosts Fuerteventura-Madrid link with up to three daily flights this summer
Iberia Express will reinforce its connections between Fuerteventura and Madrid this summer with a schedule of up to 17 weekly flights each way, allowing up to three daily flights between the island and Spain’s capital. The airline frames this improvement as part of its commitment to Canary Islands connectivity, both to facilitate residents’ travel and to boost visitor arrivals over the next six months.
The enhancement of the Fuerteventura‑Madrid route is part of a broader Iberia Express strategy in the archipelago. Iberia Express commercial director Isabel Rodríguez emphasizes that the airline maintains its commitment to the Canaries “in a time of widespread uncertainty” and defends a timetable designed to meet the needs of residents and the tourism sector.
“For those who live on the islands, flying is part of their daily life, and that is why we continue to expand options, increase frequencies and facilitate international links that allow them to travel with greater comfort and flexibility,” she says.
The carrier also highlights its punctuality and regularity record. Iberia Express notes that it has been among Europe’s most punctual airlines in recent years and that in 2025 it again topped the annual ranking compiled by consultancy Cirium.
Iberia Express, integrated within the Iberia Group, operates short‑ and medium‑haul flights and holds a prominent position on routes linking Madrid with the Canary and Balearic Islands.
The airline operates a fleet of 23 aircraft and follows a hybrid model that combines connecting flights with Business‑class service on all its
