Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Reopens After Complete Renovation

The five‑star Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace, located on Jandía beach, has reopened following an extensive transformation. The hotel now offers 437 fully renovated rooms whose designs draw on the green and terracotta hues of the island’s flora, fauna and interior landscapes—such as the Tindaya mountain—and the blues of the Atlantic Ocean.

A New Sanctuary

According to the chain’s press release, the hotel aims to be “a refuge where guests can enjoy calm, wellbeing and a deep connection with Fuerteventura’s natural environment.”

“We are especially proud of this transformation project, which demonstrates our commitment to the Canary Islands as a benchmark destination for European travelers. Our goal is to continue offering high‑quality, personalized experiences for our guests while creating value for our employees, partners and the local community,” said Finn Ackermann, Chief Commercial Officer of Iberostar Hotels & Resorts.

Updated Facilities and Services

  • Four swimming pools and a fully equipped gym
  • Spa Sensations wellness centre
  • Dining options: three restaurants and three bars, including:
    • Star Café – open 24 hours
    • Lobby Bar Sansofí – with an outdoor terrace
    • alMar – a beach‑style restaurant serving local dishes with views of Jandía beach
    • Teppanyaki Tsukiji – featuring a refreshed menu

These additions aim to deliver a premium “Selection” experience focused on rest and disconnection.

Connecting Guests with the Island

The hotel has curated a series of island‑focused experiences. Aloe vera, for example, serves as a thematic thread throughout the stay, appearing in workshops with local products and in wellness treatments offered on‑site.

Sustainable Commitment

Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace is advancing the “Iberostar Wave of Change” initiative, a roadmap for responsible tourism that protects people and the environment. Key sustainability actions include:

  • Employment: More than 300 staff members will be hired locally.
  • Responsible sourcing: The hotel sources 100 % of its fish and seafood from certified sustainable suppliers.
  • Energy efficiency: Facilities have been upgraded to operate on 100 % renewable electricity, supporting Iberostar’s target of carbon neutrality by 2030.
  • Circular economy: A pilot program for organic waste management collaborates with a local composting plant, and the hotel maintains a dedicated 3R (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse) team.

Through these measures, the Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace seeks to combine luxury hospitality with a strong environmental and social responsibility ethos.
