ICAVI Launches Tender for 75 Affordable Homes in Puerto del Rosario
The project, which received no bids in its first call, now carries a total investment of €12.9 million.
The Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) has opened a tender for the construction of 75 publicly promoted protected homes in the municipality of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura.
According to the Canary Islands Government’s Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, the initiative—unsuccessful in its initial tender—now has a total budget of €12,825,473.96, financed with European Next Generation funds through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (MRR).
The financing breakdown is as follows:
- €328,893.27 from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda.
- €717,443.18 contributed by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
- The Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands assumes the bulk of the investment, €12,496,580.69.
The urgent procedure stems from the implementation of Decree‑Law 1/2024 of 19 February, which establishes measures to address the housing emergency. The work is divided into two independent lots:
Lot 1 – Don Quijote parcel (bounded by Don Quijote, Dulcinea, and Sorolla streets)
