Improved Working Conditions for Pájara’s Local Police
The Governing Group responds to the demands raised through an agreement that will allow resource optimization.
The Pájara City Council has reached an official agreement with the union representation of the Local Police after several months of dialogue and negotiation between the governing team and the agents’ representatives. The pact, endorsed by the Local Police assembly, addresses demands that have been pending for many years.
The primary goal of the agreement is to enhance the working conditions of police officers and to strengthen citizen security throughout the municipality. Key measures include:
- Staff expansion – The council commits to continue increasing the number of officers. This Friday, a ceremony will be held for the induction of five new career civil servants and seven agents who will become trainee civil servants, totaling twelve new incorporations. Over the next year, further recruitment will be pursued, marking the largest personnel increase in the last 25 years.
- Material and training improvements – The municipal government will acquire new vehicles, renew equipment and work tools, and invest in additional training for the force.
- Enhanced visibility and coordination – Efforts will be made to boost the presence of the Local Police across the municipality and to improve coordination with other security bodies, including the Guardia Civil, Policía Canaria, Protección Canaria, and the fire service, to deliver the best possible service.
The City Council thanks all the officers who have participated in and supported this agreement, highlighting their commitment to public service and the continuous improvement of safety in the community.
