Integration and Employment in the Cabildo’s Sports Facilities through Adisfuer
Twelve members of the Association of Disabled People of Fuerteventura (Adisfuer) will provide support services in the Cabildo Insular’s sports venues under a contract reserved for entities of social interest. The agreement will run for two years, with the possibility of extension, and involves an estimated investment of €400,000.
The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is promoting the integration of people from vulnerable sectors by signing this contract with Adisfuer to deliver support for the operation of the island’s sports facilities. The service is essential for the proper functioning of activities across the various venues.
The contract‑signing ceremony took place on 25 March, attended by Cabildo President Lola García, Sports and Procurement Councilor Luis González, Adisfuer President María de los Santos Rodríguez, and its manager Mónica Montesdeoca. The tender process was conducted as a reserved procedure for entities of social interest.
The Sports Department, in coordination with the Procurement Service, promotes the contract within the island’s sports strategy eSPORTura 25‑35. This transversal initiative aims to improve sports infrastructure management and to make sport a cornerstone for social integration. The contract, valued at around €400,000, will be active for two years with a possible renewal.
“It is a contract with a clear social character, guaranteeing the operation of our sports facilities and the year‑round activities they host,” said Lola García.
“Designed to create integration opportunities for people with disabilities, it provides 12 jobs for association members.” García also praised Adisfuer and its workers for their excellent work.
Luis González highlighted that the agreement “enhances the functioning of the facilities, materialising one of the social dimensions pursued by the island’s sports strategy.”
“Thanks to these twelve employees, we can keep the sports centers open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, while promoting fairer public procurement, which is our goal in both the Sports and Procurement areas,” he added.
Representing Adisfuer, Mónica Montesdeoca expressed satisfaction at being able to continue providing the service, noting that it offers stable employment for twelve individuals, thereby benefiting twelve families. The duties include opening and closing the facilities, monitoring the use of different spaces, and reporting any incidents, among other tasks.
