Iran and US tighten the rope in first round of talks

With the world hanging by a thread, there is no movement in the negotiators’ positions

• No agreement. That is how the day of negotiations between the United States and Iran, held in Islamabad, ended.
• The first round of Pakistan‑mediated contacts concluded after hours of dialogue without any pact, while both sides schedule a new round of talks now that their differences have become clear.

According to the U.S. network CBS, the talks involving representatives from the United States, Iran and Pakistan lasted more than nine hours, extending past 02:00 local time on Sunday.

IRNA reports that unofficial sources indicate the process has been extended by an additional day at Pakistan’s suggestion, an initiative that both delegations have accepted.
