Island Youth Center launches third edition of GOAT Talent 2026 to boost F

The Island Youth Center (CIJ), a department of the Fuerteventura Island Council, has opened the call for entries for the third edition of “GOAT Talent 2026,” a competition aimed at promoting and showcasing the island’s young talent.

The initiative is part of the CIJ’s youth‑activation programme and is open to residents of Fuerteventura aged 12 to 35. Participants may enter individually or in groups of up to six people.

The contest is multidisciplinary, allowing proposals in music, dance, theatre, magic and other artistic or creative disciplines, provided they pose no risk to participants or the audience.

The competition will unfold in two phases:

  • Pre‑selection (online): Applicants must submit a video or audio clip lasting 1–5 minutes that presents their artistic proposal. From all submissions, eight finalists will be chosen.
  • Final (in‑person): The final will take place on June 5 at the Island Youth Center’s facilities, in a public event equipped with a professional stage, lighting, and sound system.

During the gala, performances will be evaluated by a specialised jury and also by the attending and online audience, as streaming votes will influence the final result. The jury will consider creativity, originality, technical execution, and staging.

Three main prizes will be awarded, each consisting of €200 in cash and the opportunity to perform or conduct a paid workshop within the CIJ’s cultural programme. In addition, the jury may grant honorable mentions to other outstanding projects, expanding participation opportunities within the island’s youth cultural agenda.

Registrations remain open until May 25 and can be completed through the official website of the Island Youth Center.

“It is essential to create spaces where young people can express themselves and develop their creativity,” said Lola García, President of the Island Council.

“This competition is a tool to energise the island’s cultural life and reinforce the CIJ as a reference point for new generations,” added Adargoma Hernández, Councilor for Education and Youth.
