Island's Two Most Coveted Hotel Parcels Go Up for Auction

In the auction, a golf course, the complex’s desalination plant, and 80 urban parcels in a coastal development are also being sold.

The bankruptcy proceedings of developer Ramiterra, initiated in 2012, are now concluding with the auction of its assets in Fuerteventura, including two beachfront parcels priced at six million euros each.

The Commercial Court No. 2 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which is overseeing Ramiterra’s insolvency case, ordered in September of last year that the company’s assets be liquidated by public auction, after approving the real‑estate developer’s liquidation plan a year earlier.

According to the auction documentation, Ramiterra’s holdings—developer of the Salinas Golf Resort—are divided into several lots that comprise:

  • The golf course
  • The desalination plant that supplies the resort
  • 80 urban parcels within a coastal development belonging to the municipality of Antigua

Among all the assets up for sale, the parcels that have attracted the most attention from real‑estate investors and hotel groups are two plots in Lot 2, as reported by Economía Digital.

“They are the most sought‑after assets in Fuerteventura, the two parcels most desired in the real‑estate sector because of their tourism potential, and they are of great interest to hotel groups,” the source said.

Consulted experts estimate that the parcels could accommodate the construction of a four‑ or five‑star hotel with a total capacity of 421 beds.
