La Oliva clears abandoned cars from the municipality
The local police of the northern municipality work to “maintain public roads in the best condition.”
The municipal police of La Oliva are intensifying the removal of abandoned vehicles from public roads.
“Our daily patrols throughout the municipality detect, and we also receive reports, of vehicles that remain parked longer than permitted on public roads. In many cases, they are abandoned cars.”
They add that this issue “not only reduces the number of parking spaces available in each locality, but also deteriorates the image of the surroundings and can generate environmental problems.”
The removal process is not immediate. According to the Local Police, they first try to contact the vehicle’s owner so it can be withdrawn voluntarily before initiating a sanctioning procedure, in line with Law 1/1999 on Canary Islands Waste.
“However, when this is not possible, we are forced to continue with the administrative procedure.”
“We keep working every day, both from the street and from our offices, to keep our public roads in the best condition. If you notice a similar case in your area, you can inform us at La Oliva Local Police: 928 866 107. Your collaboration is essential for improvement.”
