Press Release
The La Oliva City Council has approved the award of six new auto‑taxi licenses for vehicles adapted to people with reduced mobility (PMR), a measure that represents a significant advance in accessibility, inclusion and the improvement of public transport services in the municipality.
The decision, taken by the municipal plenary after the completion of the corresponding administrative procedure, will strengthen the fleet of accessible taxis, responding to a growing demand for adapted mobility from both residents and visitors.
“We continue working to build a more inclusive municipality, where all people, regardless of their abilities, can move around with autonomy and dignity. These new licenses represent a firm step in that direction and reinforce our commitment to equal opportunities.”
— Isaí Blanco, Mayor of La Oliva
“The incorporation of these six adapted taxis markedly improves service quality and expands coverage throughout the municipality. Moreover, a rigorous and transparent process was carried out for the award, assessing the experience and professional background of the applicants.”
— Julio Santana, Transport Councilor
The procedure included the evaluation of applications, the resolution of objections and the preparation of a definitive award list based on objective criteria such as seniority in the sector, thereby guaranteeing equitable access to the licenses.
With this initiative, the La Oliva City Council continues to modernize the taxi service, promoting a transport model that is more accessible, efficient and tailored to the real needs of the community.
The successful applicants will be required to meet the established requirements and submit their vehicles for inspection before they can begin operating, ensuring that the service complies with all quality and safety guarantees.
