La Oliva Develops Over 500 New Parking Spaces in Corralejo
Project Overview
The municipality of La Oliva is developing over 500 new parking spaces in the northern town of Corralejo. The initiative is split into two separate projects:
Parking near the Corralejo Bus Station
- Currently in the tendering phase, financed by the Canary Islands Ministry of Public Works.
- A modular structure will provide 364 spaces across two floors, covering a total of 5,000 m².
- Once the contract is awarded, construction is expected to be completed within seven months.
Parking on Calle Palangre (adjacent to the CAAF depot)
- Planned to add 164 spaces.
- This phase is still awaiting the tendering process.
Together, the two sites will bring 528 new parking spots to the area.
Mayor’s Statement
“We continue to work on the government’s commitment to provide not only more housing for the municipality’s residents but also new parking spaces in Corralejo. We are aware that this is a crucial issue for our neighbours in the north, and it has become a vital matter that will be realized within seven months from the contract award.” – Isaí Blanco, Mayor of La Oliva
“The goal is simply to improve the quality of life in our town, with more homes and accessible parking for the citizens.” – Isaí Blanco
Connection to Housing Development
The parking projects complement the construction of 125 new homes in the La Bocaina and Panorama Tres Islas developments, aligning the municipality’s infrastructure with the growing residential demand.
