La Oliva strengthens its workforce with 70 hires under an employment plan
The municipal program “La Oliva Emplea 2025‑2026” adds staff for ten months in cleaning, construction, tourism, administration and social services, with €1.17 million funding shared between the City Council and the Canary Islands Employment Service
The City Council of La Oliva has completed the selection process for the Employment Plan 2025‑2026, hiring 70 workers who will serve in various municipal areas for a ten‑month period.
According to the council, the procedure began in December 2025 with candidate interviews and concluded in March 2026 with the final interviews and contract signings.
The program operates under a collaboration agreement between the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) and the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities (FECAM), aimed at promoting employment initiatives for groups facing the greatest difficulties entering the labour market.
The hires are distributed across several professional categories, including social workers, administrative technicians, cleaning staff, construction laborers, bricklayers, and tourist guides, as well as other roles essential to the ordinary functioning of municipal services.
