La Oliva unveils its commercial programming for 2026
The Town Hall of La Oliva, through the Department of Commerce, has unveiled the 2026 Commercial Programming – a calendar of actions aimed at boosting economic activity and supporting the municipality’s small businesses.
Overview of the 2026 Commercial Schedule
- May (late) – The program kicks off with “Canary Week: Commercial Plaster!” (Semana Canaria: ¡Enyesque Comercial!), taking place in Corralejo, El Cotillo and La Oliva. The event will highlight local products and Canary Island identity.
- November – The third edition of “Los Lajares de Tapeo” will be held, offering a gastronomic showcase of the area’s tapas culture.
- December–January – The schedule concludes with a Christmas campaign spread across several neighborhoods of the municipality.
The town council invites residents and visitors to take part in the various activities planned throughout 2026.
Statements from Local Officials
“The goal is to create a commercial environment that encourages sector dynamism among citizens, both locals and island visitors, so they can enjoy a variety of activities suited to different times of the year and that clearly display the identity and customs of our town,” said Mayor Isaí Blanco.
“We must continue to invest in active commercial‑stimulation policies that strengthen the local economy, generate employment, and help consolidate La Oliva as a vibrant, attractive municipality with a clear commercial identity,” emphasized Commerce Councilor Alexandra Martín.
