La Oliva's PP Calls for Expanding Places at Corralejo Nursery School

The People’s Party (PP) of La Oliva urged, during the plenary session held in September, the municipal governing coalition (CC‑AM and PSOE) to act immediately on expanding the places at the Municipal Infant School in Corralejo. The aim is to meet the growing demand from local families and to facilitate work‑life balance.

The service, which caters to children aged 0‑3 years, plays an essential educational and social role, based on a pedagogical project that promotes the integral development of boys and girls, the PP highlighted in a statement sent to the media on 17 October.

According to the main opposition group in the council, the facility is authorised to accommodate more than 90 children, yet it operates below that capacity.

“Many families have expressed their frustration at not being able to access this municipal service, which adds another obstacle to reconciling family and work life,” explained José Vicente Calero, spokesperson for the PP of La Oliva.

The PP demands that the town hall reinforce its commitment to early childhood education by adding more places and expanding the staff roster to meet the existing demand.

“We propose increasing the personnel and creating a dedicated employment pool for the Infant School, enabling agile staffing and guaranteeing service quality,” Calero added.

The PP of La Oliva believes that investing in early childhood education is an investment in the municipality’s future.

“The 0‑to‑3 year stage is crucial for the development of our children, and families need to know they have access to a quality, affordable public service,” concluded the party’s spokesperson.
