Guidance from SEPE and Labor Inspection

“The Inspection not only acts with sanctioning power, but also as a guarantor of compliance and support to companies operating within the legal framework,” emphasized Francisco Guindín, territorial director of the Labor and Social Security Inspection in the Canary Islands.

After a brief pause, Pedro Luis Duarte Vázquez, territorial coordinator of the Public Employment Service (SEPE), presented three strategic lines for businesses:

  • Employment Guidance Centers – resources to facilitate hiring and promote equality.
  • Full Utilization of Training Credits – available through Social Security contribution discounts.
  • Procedures for Proper Processing and Justification – ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

The Role of Inspection and the Occupations Observatory

Francisco Guindín highlighted the Occupations Observatory and the Inspection’s role in:

  • Analyzing the labor market and detecting training needs.
  • Monitoring compliance in occupational risk prevention, Social Security, labor relations, and immigration.
  • Planning and combating fraud and the informal economy.
