The Cabildo of Fuerteventura, through the Department of Economic Promotion and Employment, together with ecca.edu, has kicked off a new edition of the language courses “We Are Fuerteventura” (Spanish) and “Wir Sind Fuerteventura” (German). The programmes are aimed at improving the quality of tourist assistance on the island.

  • Interest: Almost 200 people have already signed up.
  • Goal: Strengthen the linguistic skills of residents and boost employment opportunities in sectors such as:
    • Transport
    • Commerce
    • Security
    • Health services (this year a specific English course for the health‑care context has been added).

“Having nearly 200 people interested confirms that we are offering useful and practical training to improve employability in Fuerteventura,” said Nuria Cabrera, councilor for Economic Promotion and Employment.

Cabrera was accompanied at the launch by Carmen Nieves Hernández, island delegate of ecca.edu.

  • Approach: Combines didactic materials, audiovisual resources, and tutorial support.
