Magnitude 3 quake off El Cotillo coast
The seismic movement occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers
A magnitude‑3 earthquake was recorded this morning about 16 km northwest of the northern coast of Fuerteventura. The quake originated at a depth of roughly 13 km, and so far there are no reports of it being felt by the population. The tremor struck at 7:40 a.m. on Thursday.
The intensity of the tremor is a few degrees above the usual levels for the region, but such events are considered normal for seismic activity at depths close to the island.
