Memoria Viva 2025 Prepares Over Two Weeks of Heritage Sites in Fuerteventura
The 17 workers hired under the Cabildo’s “Memoria Viva 2025” employment plan have been improving heritage spaces across the island through conservation and rehabilitation work. Since the programme’s launch in November 2025, activities have been carried out in more than a fortnight of sites, including museums, cultural centres and other historic locations.
Today, Cabildo president Lola García and Employment Promotion councilor Nuria Cabrera visited the conservation work taking place at the Molino de la Corte. There, crews have cleaned the interior, conserved wooden elements, repainted both the exterior and interior of the mill, and adapted the surrounding area.
“We are at a moment when we must make an effort to show where we come from and to showcase this legacy, which is part of our identity as an island,” said President Lola García, highlighting a job‑creation scheme that has invested over €472,000 to provide employment for nearly twenty people while protecting the island’s cultural assets.
Councilor Cabrera emphasized the Cabildo’s commitment to active employment policies and thanked the coordination with Museos de Fuerteventura for implementing the programme in museums belonging to that network. Through cooperation with municipal authorities, the work also extends to other historic assets such as traditional houses, historic lime kilns and former schools.
The visit also included Rayco León, Councillor for Museums of Fuerteventura, and Sandra Torres, Heritage councillor of the Antigua City Council.

- Hospitalito

- Faro del Tostón and Molino de Villaverde.
- Cueva del Llano (La Oliva).
- Faro de la Entallada (Tuineje).
- Casa de Felipito el Feo.
- Centro de Interpretación del Poblado de La Atalayita (Antigua).
During March, work was also carried out at:
