Minimum Bus Service Guaranteed During Sept. 15‑16 Strike in Fuerteventura

Provincial‑wide strike affects only regular inter‑urban routes

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura announced on Sunday that, in response to the general strike by ALSA drivers – the company that operates the island’s regular inter‑urban bus service – a minimum level of service will be maintained.

  • Strike dates: September 15 and 16 (general strike), with intermittent stoppages on the following days.
  • Service guarantee: At least 70 % of the regular schedule will be kept in operation under any circumstances.
  • How to check the reduced timetable: Passengers can consult the established minimum‑service frequencies on the website tiadhe.com/todas‑las‑rutas or the Cabildo’s transport page.

According to the Cabildo, the strike is provincial in scope and impacts only regular inter‑urban bus routes. It stems from stalled negotiations over the sector’s collective bargaining agreement between the workers’ committee and the employers’ association.
