Missing Woman Found Dead in Corralejo
Son Arrested as Main Suspect
The Guardia Civil confirmed on Friday the discovery of the lifeless body of a 56‑year‑old woman who had been reported missing earlier this month in Corralejo. Police have detained her son, whom they consider the primary suspect in the case.
The woman, identified as Katty O., was last seen in the northern town of the island. Since her disappearance was reported on May 4, a search operation was launched to locate her.
Her corpse was found on Friday morning in the Zurita environmental complex, an area already under investigation by authorities in recent days.
In parallel with the discovery, members of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil in Las Palmas arrested the victim’s son, linking him to the incident.
The cause of death and the exact circumstances remain undisclosed. The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy performed by the Institute of Legal Medicine of Las Palmas will determine the cause of death.
