Models Forecast 7-Meter Waves in Fuerteventura This Saturday
The luck of the western coastal towns of Fuerteventura is that the waning‑quarter moon does not coincide, so it will not bring high tides.
A deep Arctic low‑pressure system moving in from the north, following the Bran storm, could generate waves up to 7 meters along the Majorero coast around midday on Saturday. While forecasts may vary, the outlook points to strong sea conditions throughout the weekend.
Strong north‑northwest winds, with gusts reaching 65 km/h, will accompany a widespread drop in temperatures across the island.
The low is also expected to bring a good amount of rain to Fuerteventura, especially in the north, but affecting the whole island.
Because the tides are low during this waning‑quarter phase, western coastal areas are less likely to face flooding. Nevertheless, the impressive sea power will not go unnoticed—caution is advised when approaching the shoreline.
