Multiple poachers intercepted on Corralejo's main beaches

The local police of La Oliva intervened this weekend in the Grandes Playas area of Corralejo after a citizen reported possible illegal spearfishing in a prohibited zone.

With the assistance of the Drone Unit (UDRON), officers located the spot, the individuals involved, and the equipment used for the activity, and they also seized the irregularly obtained catches.

During the operation, authorities confirmed that the perpetrators lacked the required documentation and authorizations to practice spearfishing, prompting the initiation of the corresponding administrative procedures.

The confiscated fish were weighed and subsequently donated to a local charitable organization for social purposes.
