New environmental agents for Fuerteventura

The Cabildo of Fuerteventura is bolstering its environmental‑protection team with the addition of three new officers, a move made possible through coordination between the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Human Resources.

“Fuerteventura is a territory especially sensitive from an environmental point of view, so it is essential to reinforce the work carried out by the Environmental Agents in monitoring and protecting our island, one of the priorities of this government,” said island president Lola García.
“This work must be accompanied by greater awareness and citizen consciousness to guarantee the conservation of our natural resources.”

Human Resources councilor Nuria Cabrera and Environment councilor Carlos Rodríguez welcomed the new officers. Cabrera emphasized the need to keep strengthening the Cabildo’s various departments, especially those with direct corporate responsibilities:

“The incorporation of new agents allows us to strengthen the service and improve the administration’s response capacity in key areas such as conservation and protection of the territory, which is one of the pillars of this government group’s action.”

Rodríguez highlighted the rapid response of the environmental agents and the importance of education and public participation:

“The swift action of the Cabildo’s Environmental Agents is crucial for protecting flora, fauna, and our natural sites and heritage.”
“We must focus our efforts on environmental‑education campaigns to contribute, together, society and administrations, to the protection and conservation of our environment.”
“It is important not only to monitor but also to involve the population and visitors in respecting regulations and good environmental practices, especially in a territory as extensive and largely protected as Fuerteventura.”
“Citizens should report any observed infractions, ensuring they are forwarded to the competent environmental authorities.”
