New Era for Puerto del Rosario's Green Spaces
The Capital Municipality Launches the Conservation, Maintenance, and Cleaning Service for Green Spaces and Municipal Areas
On the morning of Tuesday, the presentation took place at Casillas del Ángel, where the consortium UTE Puerto del Rosario Jardines Dos was awarded the contract for the conservation, maintenance, and cleaning of the municipality’s green spaces, facilities, children’s playgrounds, sports areas, biosanitary installations, ornamental fountains, dog zones, and public squares, following a tender by the city council.
The agreement has an initial duration of four years, with the possibility of a two‑year extension.
The scope covers comprehensive conservation and upkeep of all publicly used green areas within the municipal limits of Puerto del Rosario, including all associated components, infrastructure, and elements. This includes cleaning and maintaining parks, recreational zones, biosanitary facilities, ornamental fountains, dog areas, and public squares, ensuring they function properly and preserving their quality for community enjoyment.
To carry out the work, the consortium’s material resources include a fleet of 35 vehicles—pressure washers, elevated‑platform trucks, open‑box trucks, as well as crane‑equipped trucks for pruning collection, water tank transport, and vegetation waste containers. It also has trailers and a small tractor, enabling a swift, efficient service tailored to the municipality’s needs.
Equally important is the human team from FCC, consisting of 41 professionals who will execute the service.
“It is a priority for this council that cleaning, maintenance, and conservation of the municipality remain constant throughout the year. That is why we have proceeded with the award of this service to ensure it is carried out under the best conditions,” said Mayor David de Vera.
“The population and inhabited areas of the municipality have grown, as have the public spaces that require continuous maintenance. Therefore, the council is undertaking these actions, and citizen collaboration is essential so that everyone can enjoy these spaces,” emphasized Councilor for Parks and Green Areas Erica González.
“The UTE Puerto del Rosario Jardines Dos team is committed to service excellence, guaranteeing optimal conservation of green spaces and recreational areas. Moreover, we align with the best environmental practices, implementing sustainable processes in all our operations,” stated José Alberto Rodríguez, Production Manager of FCC’s Canary Islands delegation.
The service, designed with an integrated approach and adapted to municipal needs, aims to improve residents’ quality of life by keeping public spaces in exceptional condition and providing safe, pleasant, and accessible environments for the entire community.
