New Shopping Center in Caleta de Fuste
Private Investment of €1.4 Million Enabled by the Antigua Municipality Agreement
Today we witnessed the inauguration of the Fund Grube Shopping Center, which transforms the former “Parcela Q” into the new “Edificio Q”. The project is a direct result of the approval, two years ago, of the II Tourism Modernisation Plan for Caleta de Fuste, which allowed a partnership between the Antigua City Council and the developer Impulsora de Comercio y Desarrollo, S.L..
“We congratulate the Brome family and the business promoter for this decisive commercial initiative in Caleta de Fuste,” said Mayor Matías Peña García during his speech. “We also commend the municipal technical team for unlocking, and ultimately approving, the II Tourism Modernisation Plan.”
The mayor of Antigua, accompanied by Nereida Calero, representative of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Senator Paloma Hernández, and members of the municipal corporation, attended the opening. The new Fund Grube center occupies more than 900 m², represents an investment of €1.4 million, and has already created over 20 direct retail jobs.
Fund Grube hosts a range of international brands, including Rituals, Chanel, Dior, Carolina Herrera, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Paco Rabanne, and Tom Ford in its perfumery section. The store will also feature new arrivals such as Jo Malone, Dolce & Gabbana Make‑Up, Kérastase, and, in the fashion area, HOKA, GAP Kids, LEGO, alongside a dedicated zone for local products.
Mayor Peña added that the agreement, signed more than a year ago, also allowed the municipality to receive at no cost a new public‑use area: a 2,300 m² landscaped park equipped with urban furniture, tree‑lined walkways, and a grandstand. This green space sits adjacent to the Fund Grube center, reinforcing its position as a focal point of Caleta de Fuste.
