NOE program youths train in public service and personal skills to boost employability
The participants of the New Employment Opportunities (NOE) 2025 program continue to strengthen their training in various areas with the aim of improving their labour insertion, as part of the complementary actions promoted by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.
The young people, who are currently undertaking a one‑year internship in different departments of the island institution, have received specific training in public service and personal skills, delivered by the Human Resources area. This training adds to other topics already covered such as equality, occupational risk prevention, environmental awareness and administrative legislation.
The training action, carried out at the Island Youth Centre, combined theoretical and practical content aimed at strengthening key competencies for performance in the public sector. Among the topics addressed is the knowledge of the regulations governing access to the Administration, as well as the different professional figures that exist, such as civil servant and labor staff.
The programme will continue with new sessions focused on social skills and leadership, where competencies such as interpersonal communication, decision‑making and team management will be worked on. These trainings will incorporate participatory dynamics, such as role‑play, to facilitate the practical application of the knowledge.
The NOE programme, under the Employment Promotion Department headed by Nuria Cabrera, offers a job opportunity to about twenty university‑graduated and vocational‑training young people, with an investment of €1.1 million.
The initiative is co‑financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) within the Canary Islands 2021‑2027 programme, in addition to contributions from the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Development Fund (FDCAN).
With this programme, the Cabildo of Fuerteventura aims to improve youth employability, combining real work experience with specialised training adapted to market needs.
